Telekka
October 28, 2010 - Telakka is a very nice place for some traditional Finnish food.  Certainly the price is right.  It was recommended by my colleague Arto from the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.  Denny and Becky have eaten here and like it alot.  The decor is very cozy and it is very conveniently located:  Right off the square in Tullintori.  There is also a theater/band space upstairs.

Inside is very cozy as I said.  It has a lot of brickwork and low ceilings.

For only 5.5 euros you get all the soup and bread you want.  For only 1 euro extra you get the salad bar.  Today the soup was pea soup.  Pea soup on Thursdays is a tradition all over Finland.  It is the soup of the day at my university, in the army and in most other places I have eaten at on a given Thursday.

All in all Telekka was a great value and really good food.
